Spaghetti-napper
25 APRIL 2012, Wednesday, Last day of proposal defenses...
That awkward (and REALLY embarrassing!) moment when you take a Jolly Spaghetti to give to a friend and later realize it was somebody else's!

3:08AM...
Can't sleep.
AGAIN.
That has been the case for about three days or so now...
I.DON'T.KNOW.WHY.
So... Might as well do this...
I still have a tiny bunch of requirements to check (and grade!) and a whole lot of stuff to do for the summer. The new task assigned to me seems to be a lot more demanding than I thought it would be. So help me God! Help me help our dearest students make the journey through what appears to be the most difficult struggle of their college lives more fun and painless (errrrr... Was that even appropriate?!). Anyway... Seriously, I would like to make this ride lighter... And smoother... And something they will remember in a GOOD way. I don't know how, but we'll try to figure it out. :-)
As I am writing this, I'm still figuring out why I can't sleep for the past few days and I realize that it's very hard to find answers when you have a hungry stomach. I am also reminiscing the times when I was passing through the same road you're taking now. IT IS DIFFICULT. I won't deny that and make you believe otherwise. BUT, YOU WILL GET THROUGH. Remember that the only way is through. There are a lot of fun bits and pieces along the way -- tons of papers to read, thousands of lines of codes to write, documents to write (and revise... and revise... and revise.......), panelists to deal with (and feed?!), harsh and not-so-harsh criticisms to take in...... -- that would make the ride a little bumpy but at the same time, thrillingly pleasant and fulfilling. Just do what you have to do. Give it your best shot. And in no time, you'll realize you're almost done. Almost there. Almost ready to end the ride you were so scared to take. :-)

Do not forget to find time to rest. Do not let the ride drain you. When you're tired, rest. Sleep. Eat. Listen to your favorite music. Relax. Rest. Even for just a little while. It will help you think and work better.

And for what has been going on with me lately, I might as well leave all the answers to Him. :-)
